Inter Miami is expected to have various changes in Major League Soccer, as Lionel Messi's team is undergoing the process to make some major decisions regarding the contracts of a few players. It has been reported that some of the contracts will be declined by the team, due to which Messi will have to part ways with his teammates.
On Monday, the team brought up an announcement about the year-end roster decisions, which saw the contracts of six players being declined. Although Inter Miami had a great campaign in the Major League Soccer 2024, the team is now preparing for the upcoming season, after they got knocked out of the tournament in a loss against Atlanta United in the playoffs.
The team also received the Supporters Shield, as they were able to grab an impressive total of 74 points in a single season. It has been noted that seven contract options have been accepted by the team and six have been declined. The declined ones include Cole Jensen, Felipe Valencia, Lawson Sunderland, Franco Negri, Serhiy Kryvtsov and Matias Rojas.
Lionel Messi will be continuing with the team in the upcoming season also, as his contract has been extended. Along with him, the contract of defender Jordi Alba has also been extended.
