Harry Kane has admitted he is aiming to break Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga single season scoring record of 41 goals. After scoring 36 goals in 32 games last season, Kane has already netted 18 league goals in 14 matches and 5 in 6 Champions League games, stressing consistency as the key to achieving history.

For the Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, breaking records has quickly become a realistic ambition in the Bundesliga. After scoring 36 goals in 32 matches during his debut league season, Kane narrowly missed out on Robert Lewandowski’s iconic single season record of 41 goals, set in the 2020 21 campaign. That mark itself surpassed Gerd Müller’s long standing total of 40 goals from the 1971 72 season. Kane has already made a strong push this season, scoring 18 Bundesliga goals in just 14 appearances.

His form has not been limited to domestic football either, as he has also netted 5 goals in 6 Champions League matches. These figures underline why the England captain believes Lewandowski’s record is within reach. Speaking about his target, Kane stressed that consistency over several months will be the biggest challenge. He acknowledged the difficulty of maintaining top level performances throughout a long season but admitted he enjoys setting ambitious goals for himself.

Kane described Lewandowski’s record as incredible and difficult to beat, yet remains confident if he can sustain his current level. If Kane manages to score more than 41 league goals in a single season, he would not only write his name into Bundesliga history but also leave a legacy that could stand for decades.
