Betis proposes covering more wages or co-ownership. Antony prefers staying under Pellegrini, with decisive talks scheduled soon to finalize his future.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Antony’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain with Real Betis pushing to extend his stay. Since joining Betis on loan in January, Antony has thrived, contributing eight goals and assists in just 11 matches across all competitions. He has also created 17 chances from open play and six big chances — more than any other La Liga player in that period — helping Betis become the second-highest-scoring team in the league's second half.

Betis are eager to keep the 25-year-old Brazilian and are prepared to cover a larger share of his wages. Previously, United reportedly demanded €50 million for a permanent move, with Juventus, Bayern Munich, Real Sociedad, and Saudi clubs monitoring the situation. Betis, however, prefer another loan deal leading up to the 2026 World Cup.

Talks are scheduled between Antony’s agents and United next week, with Antony keen to continue under Manuel Pellegrini. United may insist on a purchase clause if they agree to another loan, but Betis fear an unaffordable buyout. A potential co-ownership model is being explored, similar to past deals with Barcelona. Betis vice president José Miguel López Catalán admitted it would be challenging to keep Antony, but his strong desire to stay could influence the outcome.
