Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, as PSG have distanced themselves from the striker. Osimhen, who has 26 goals and 5 assists on loan at Galatasaray, will return to Napoli, who are ready to sell for €75 million (£63m). United could sign him if they qualify for the Champions League.

In the upcoming summer transfer window, Manchester United could strengthen their attack by signing Victor Osimhen. The club has struggled in front of goal, scoring only 37 goals in 29 Premier League matches, prompting new manager Ruben Amorim to seek reinforcements beyond Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has had an outstanding season with 26 goals and 5 assists. He will return to Napoli, who are ready to sell him for his €75 million (£63m) release clause. Manchester United's chances of signing the Nigerian striker have improved, as Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has distanced the club from a potential move.

Osimhen has long expressed a desire to play in the Premier League. Chelsea attempted to sign him last summer but failed due to wage disagreements. United, however, are in a strong financial position to meet his £207,000 per week salary demands.

The 26-year-old has a 21% shot-to-goal conversion rate, scoring with every fifth shot, and consistently wins over five duels per match. United may negotiate a long-term payment plan with Napoli instead of triggering his release clause. With his contract expiring in 2026, Napoli must sell him this summer or risk losing him for free.
