Inter Miami have signed goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo permanently from Lanús after his successful 2025 loan spell. The 23-year-old, who played 19 matches and kept five clean sheets, has signed until 2029. His return strengthens Lionel Messi’s squad as the club prepares for the 2026 season and future competitions.

For the second straight year after lifting the 2025 MLS Cup, Inter Miami have continued to strengthen their squad as they prepare for an ambitious 2026 season. The club has confirmed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo from Argentine side Lanús, following his successful loan spell last season. Although the transfer fee was not disclosed, earlier reports suggested Inter Miami were negotiating to acquire 70 percent of his sporting rights. The 23 year old has signed a contract until June 2029, with an option for an extra year.

Ríos Novo played a key role in the 2025 campaign, appearing in 19 matches, conceding 18 goals, and keeping five clean sheets. He also started every playoff match, allowing just four goals in six postseason games. His strong performances convinced the club to secure his long term future.

With Drake Callender and William Yarbrough leaving, Inter Miami entered 2026 with limited goalkeeping options. The club has since added Dayne St. Clair as the expected first choice, while Ríos Novo returns as a reliable backup and future prospect.

Under coach Javier Mascherano, Inter Miami have also signed several players across defence, midfield, and attack, aiming to replace departed stars and build depth. With Lionel Messi leading the team, the club is targeting domestic and international success in the coming season.
