Orlando City dominated early proceedings, with Marco Pasalic scoring in the 18th minute and Martin Ojeda doubling the lead soon after to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

Inter Miami responded strongly after the break. Mateo Silvetti scored his first career MLS goal in the 49th minute to reduce the deficit. Messi then equalized in the 57th minute after receiving a pass from Telasco Segovia. Segovia continued his impressive performance by scoring the go ahead goal in the 85th minute. Messi sealed the victory in the 90th minute with a brilliant free kick, completing his brace.
