Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag on Wednesday showered praise on legendary spinner Anil Kumble and said that he is the perfect man to coach India. The 37-year-old also added that the biggest challenge for Virat Kohli and co. will be the home matches against England, South Africa, and Australia.

After mesmerising everyone with his ruthless batting for years, Virender Sehwag is now known for his ability to tickle the funny bone on Twitter. In an interaction with the Times of India during the promotional activity for the TNPL franchisee Madurai Super Giants, the former India dasher opened up on Anil Kumble’s appointment as coach and on whether he would take up the role of the batting coach of the Indian team.

I think Anil Kumble is the perfect man to coach India."

“No. I don't have time (laughs). I don't think the Indian team needs a batting coach. They have good batsmen. A coach should be a friend and not a coach. You need someone who can motivate. I think Anil Kumble is the perfect man to coach India. He is the most positive person I have ever met. He never gives up and this team can learn a lot from him,” Sehwag said.

Virat Kohli and co. are currently comfortably leading the 4-match Test series in West Indies. But, Sehwag believes that the biggest test for the Indian Test team will be the upcoming matches against England, South Africa, and Australia at home.

“The challenge is facing England, South Africa, and Australia when they travel to India. How they cope under pressure will be the key. At the moment, England are playing very good cricket and the upcoming England tour of India will be a huge task. India did well to beat South Africa 3-0. I hope they beat England,” said the 37-year-old, reported ToI.

The Sultan of Multan is also known for his two triple centuries and Sehwag believes that there are many players who can better his record.

“Yes, there are many players who can do it. All you need is one and a half days! I don't recollect that innings against SA but the Multan feat always remains my favourite one,” said the former Delhi dasher.

Questions about his funny tweets on Twitter was inevitable and when asked about whether he missed interacting on social media during his playing days, Sehwag said, “I had signed a contract with BCCI. I would have been banned as we were not allowed to do.”
