Asked to compare the current coach Anil Kumble with Ravi Shastri, opener Shikhar Dhawan chose the diplomatic route saying both were good and lauded Shastri's efforts as the Team Director. The southpaw also singled out Kumble's ability to read player's mind to play a big role in things to come.

It will be some time before the dust settles on the Shastri-Kumble comparisons. Murali Vijay was asked, in his press conference the day before, what he thought of Kumble, and the batsman responded that he had played all of one Test with the legend and cannot really hope to comment. It was Dhawan's turn yesterday, but the southpaw was better prepared saying, "He (Kumble) knows in and out what's happening in a player's mind and I feel that's going to play a huge role. I can already feel he gives lot of cushion to players," in the media conference.

Dhawan also underlined that every player is in the plans forAnil Kumble. "With Anil bhai, it is not only Virat or any other big player, but every player is in his scheme of plans. Even the ones who will not be playing regularly in the side. I feel that is a very important thing," Dhawan said, on Saturday.
