In the limelight deservedly this IPL season, Krunal Pandya has called Yuvraj Singh his idol after a knock of 86 off just 37 balls that helped Mumbai to a victory. The southpaw also said that the team has just one thing on their mind right now—win against Gujarat and qualify for the play-offs.

"I used to watch Yuvraj Singh and I am big fan of Yuvraj Singh. So I like him and I idolise him,” Pandya told media on the sidelines of 'Kingfisher Premium Bowl Out' contest, reported PTI.

"I am happy for my performance for the Mumbai Indians. Batting, bowling – wherever I have got opportunity – I have done well. I will like to continue with the same. We have one match remaining (against Gujarat Lions in Kanpur on May 21) and will try to win it and qualify for the play-offs," said Pandya.

It has been the year of the other Pandya as he has surpassed his more famous brother and has shone with both ball and bat. However, Mumbai are still fighting for a spot in the play-offs with 14 points alongside Gujarat, although they are in a spot of bother with a negative NRR and with Gujarat, RCB and Delhi still in contention.

"We have one thing on our mind, about winning the next game. We are not thinking about the result, but are focusing on the process. We will go there (to Kanpur), practise well for two days. If we will execute the skills, then the result will be in our favour," he added.

Pandya also talked about how he has learnt from the best in the business in the Mumbai Indians team.

"We have many legends in the team, (head coach) Ricky Ponting, Sachin (Tendulkar) sir, Jonty (Rhodes) sir. I have learned about batting from Robin Singh (assistant coach). He guides me about batting. It has been a good experience," he added.
