Following in the footsteps of giants is never an easy task, and of all of the followers, Sachin Tendulkar's son would be the best to vouch for it. Arjun Tendulkar, however, seems to be moving in the right direction after being named in the West Zone U-16 squad for the Inter-zonal tournament.

The tournament will be played from May 24 to June 6 at Hubli in Karnataka.

16-year old Arjun, unlike his dad, is a left-arm seamer and plays for the Mumbai U-16 team. Arjun has been right in the spotlight thanks to his surname and was also once invited to the pre-match preparations of the Indian team back in 2011. An 11-year old then, he faced Yuvraj Singh who bowled to him in the nets ahead of the Test between England and India.

Arjun also has been receiving tips from Wasim Akram, whom he met during last year's IPL. "He is as enthusiastic as any 15 year old passionate about cricket in India and Pakistan would be," Wasim told NDTV back then. "I gave him some general tips about fitness and wrist position. I told him how to bring the ball back into the right-hander. I told him to practice it for three months and then I promised him to teach how to take the ball away from right-handers."

U-16 West Zone Squad: OM Bhosale (Captain), Vasudev Patil, Suved Parker, Smit Patel, Sanpreet Bagga, Yashashvi Jaiswal, Divyansh Saxena, Neel Jadhav (Wk), Arjun Tendulkar, Yogesh Dongre, Atharva Ankolekar, Suraj Suryal, Siddharth Desai, Akash Pandey and Mukund Sardar.
