Pakistan government has restrained its cricket board from resuming bilateral cricketing ties with India with both countries going through a volatile relation. The proposed bilateral tie between the two nations had failed to materialise last December after resistance from both the governments.

PCB Chief Shahryar Khan said on Sunday that the until the government gives fresh directions on the matter, PCB will not be talking to the BCCI about resuming bilateral cricketing ties.

"The government has made it clear to us that we are not supposed to engage in any dialogue with our Indian counterparts nor give any statements on Indo-Pak cricket ties until further orders," Khan said, reported PTI.

However, Khan expressed his hope in resuming the ties in the future with Anurag Thakur elected as the new chairman of the BCCI.

"Thakur, to me, represents both the BCCI and their government so it will be easier talking to one person when the time comes," he said.

Apart from heading the BCCI, Anurag Thakur is also an elected Member of Parliament from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

Shahryar Khan has also explained that the PCB suffered a revenue loss after the BCCI backed out of the proposed bilateral series back in December last year.

"We did all we could to convince them to resume bilateral ties but they didn't respond in the same manner so now even our government has said put a lid on further discussions," Khan said.

India and Pakistan last played in a bilateral series back in December 2012 when Pakistan came to India for a short goodwill tour.
