PCA asks BCCI to bear logistics expenses for Mohali Test
Punjab Cricket Association has asked the Indian cricket board to bear its side of the logistics expenses for the third Test between India and England to be held in Mohali after the BCCI had earlier requested the five Test-staging associations to pay its costs.
"There are certain expenses that BCCI pays directly which are logistics, team's hotel bills, the stay of match officials, chartered flight or flight tickets, hosting officials from the opposition board. The local associations take care of the local transport, food during matches, preparation of the ground etc. Similar arrangement needs to continue this time around also," PCA secretary GS Walia told Times of India.
"The situation is very fluid at this moment. We have written back that we want to continue to follow the earlier arrangement that the Board has adhered to.”
As per the interim order of the Supreme Court on Oct 21, the BCCI is not allowed to release any funds to state associations until it implements the reforms proposed by the Lodha committee in toto.
Earlier this week the Indian cricket board had requested its English counterpart to bear its own tour expenses as the host awaits the Lodha committee’s permission to execute the MoU between the two boards. ECB has reportedly agreed to the arrangement.
