In a funny incident, Australia opener Matt Renshaw was forced to retire ill in the first session of the first Test at Pune after he appeared to have contracted a curious case of Delhi Belly. No.4 batsman Shaun Marsh then had to come to the crease to join skipper Steve Smith in the middle.

As expected, the ball started turning from the very first over in the first Test match between India and Australia, but the opening duo of David Warner and Matt Renshaw did well to thwart the good work of the Indian spinners for major part of the innings. Just when it seemed, the duo were on the verge of making a big partnership, Umesh Yadav rattled David Warner’s stump to give India the first breakthrough.

But immediately after Warner's dismissal, Matt Renshaw, at the other end, seemed to have come down with a lot of discomfort. He even tried to leave the pitch without informing the umpires, before being called back to explain the reason behind his leave.

Renshaw, then, came back and hurriedly explained the reason and ran away towards the pavilion. Shaun Marsh, then quickly came to the crease to join his skipper Steve Smith.

At the time of writing this report, Australia are on 118/1 with Steve Smith is batting on 20 and Marsh on 15.
