MS Dhoni : I don't think even ICC understands the D/L method
Ex-India captain MS Dhoni has joked that even the ICC don’t understand how the Duckworth-Lewis method works - although that must be only half in jest. Dhoni attended a charity dinner which was organised by Virat Kohli, an effort to raise money for the underprivileged.
When the India cricket team attended Virat Kohli’s gala dinner, Dhoni faced a question regarding D/L method. But as usual, Dhoni dealt with it very smartly. On being asked if he understands Duckworth-Lewis method, Dhoni replied, ''I don't think even ICC understands Duckworth Lewis''.
Dhoni was also questioned about the bowler who he found the toughest to face across the pitch in international cricket.
"All the fast bowlers are quite difficult, with the limited technique I had, it was very difficult to face the fast bowlers. Still, if I had to pick one, I would pick Shoaib Akhtar. Very simple reason, he was quick, he was fast, he could bowl a yorker, he could bowl a bouncer but you never expected a beamer (he chuckles), he was a bit unpredictable, he was fun to play against," he said.
All the members of India's Champions Trophy squad and support staff were present at the event.
Indian cricket captain Kohli's foundationorganised this event to raise funds for the underprivileged kids.
According to Cricketnext, Kohli said, “We set it up quite a while back but to get it rolling it was very important that we start raising funds in a big way. My vision was to provide for the underprivileged kids.”
