WATCH | MS Dhoni tries ridiculous 'between the legs' run out attempt against Gujarat

MS Dhoni has made a name for himself by producing some absolutely astounding pieces of brilliance from behind the stumps. His no-look run out of Ross Taylor will forever be a part of his video compilation but against GL he outdid himself with a no-look, through the legs run-out attempt.

With Washington Sunder giving away just one run in the second over of the match between RPS and GL, Ishan Kishan hit a good length ball towards deep square leg. Rahul Tripathi, who was fielding at fine leg, was alive to the danger and made up his ground quickly and threw in the ball towards the striker's end.

However, the throw was wayward and MS Dhoni had to move away from the stumps in order to collect the ball. The former Indian captain though produced a moment of magic as, in one swift motion, he caught the ball and threw the ball at the stumps. While that is a normal Dhoni thing to do, this time he did it through his legs and hit the middle and leg stump without even looking. The expression on Tripathi's face was priceless as the youngster was trying to figure out how the Indian legend managed to pull off such a maneuver.

The shame of it was that even though the decision was referred to the third umpire, Kishan had made his crease quite comfortably. It is an absolute pleasure watching the 35-year-old pull off such amazing efforts during the twilight of his career, but it also comes with an element of sadness knowing that it might not be long before fans would crave for such attempts once he decides to hang up those gloves.
