India v Australia | Series ends as tie with Hyderabad T20 abandoned due to rain
India's third and deciding T20I in the three-match series against Australia had to be called off without a ball being bowled owing to incessant rain in Hyderabad. The series ended with both teams winning a game apiece after the Aussies broke their losing streak against the Men in Blue in Guwahati.
Australia would surely be frustrated by the fruitless result in the T20I series against India after the third game at Hyderabad had to be called off due to the conditions not being suitable for cricket. After the toss was delayed by 15 minutes, the umpires had come out to check the possibilities of a game but soon realised the wishes of the rain gods. The crowd of 29851 people were left disappointed as the game was called off without a single delivery being bowled.
Australia had perhaps saved their best performances for the end of the tour and it didn’t pay off as expected. Their dominating win at the second T20I was their best display in the whole tour and in a stadium where even David Warner, the Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, would have expected some support from the crowd, the series might well have titled towards Australia had the game been played.
After their emphatic 4-1 win in the ODI series, India remain unbeaten in the T20I series.
