India vs Australia | With series at stake, rain threatens to play dampener in Hyderabad

Due to the retreating monsoons in India, both the team had to play almost all matches of the tour with an eye on the skies and now it seems, the third and final T20I will be no different, if not more severe. Hyderabad, the venue for the match, has been battered by rain for almost a week, which forced the Hyderabad vs Maharashtra Ranji Trophy match to be abandoned without a ball being bowled. 

After persistent periods of rain on the eve of the match, the outfield at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, which will host its first T20I, is soft and muddy. In a bid to make it match-ready, the Hyderabad Cricket Association adapted a new unorthodox method. Three pedestal fans propped up by plastic chairs were aimed at a particularly wet patch of the outfield. 

But, if rain god relents by the evening and allows a full-match, India will have a shot at a yet-another series victory. But if Australia do manage to win the game, they would leapfrog India from the fifth position in the world T20 rankings.
