Bishan Singh Bedi has claimed that even though Kuldeep Yadav looks confident right now, he will have to face bad days where things go against him. Bedi has said that he is happy with the team's current performance but believes that the tours abroad will be the real challenge for Virat Kohli's team.

During the second ODI between India and Australia at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Kuldeep became the third Indian to take an ODI hat-trick as he removed Matthew Wade, Ashton Agat, and Pat Cummins on the three consecutive deliveries. While praising the young spinners' performance, Bedi added that people should not judge the UP lad in hurry.

"I would like to see him bowl 35-40 overs in a day. He is bubbling with energy and looks confident but he will have to face the bad days when things will go against him, at that time you guys(media) will also go after him," Bedi said with a laugh, while discussing the youngster's recent performances with the media at an event as quoted by Cricketnext.

Bedi, who played 67 Test matches and 10 ODIs for India, warned the current team about the upcoming challenges that they will face in foreign tours. India is scheduled to tour South Africa early next year before travelling to England in July.

"This team hasn't been challenged yet, the team knows that the real test will come when they tour abroad next year and they are preparing for it," said Bedi.

Ravichandran Ashwin has played 111 ODIs and 46 T20Is for India in which he has claimed 150 and 52 wickets respectively. India’s leading bowler’s exclusion from the limited overs games against Sri Lanka gave a chance to young players such as Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav which prompted the selectors to ti continue the same lineup for the Australia series as well. Despite the youngsters performing well, Bedi felt that Ashwin can make a comeback to the limited overs format.

"The selectors haven't totally ruled him out. There are still many spots up for grabs in the team, I won't say which as that is something you will have to ask the selectors," the 70-year-old stated.
