To any young fan or budding cricketer, meeting their role model could mean the world and motivate them to improve their game even further. AB de Villiers did exactly that when he paid the youngster a surprise visit on radio talk show and that was sufficient to bring tears to the guy's eyes.
Former South African cricketer and one of the most successful batsmen of the past decade, AB de Villiers surprised everyone across the globe when he announced his retirement from international cricket last month. In an emotional video, de Villiers explained the reasons behind his decision and how he felt that it was high time to pass on the torch to his younger teammates.
But some young fans are still reeling over de Villiers’ retirement as they could not bear to see their childhood hero hang up his boots and call it a day on the field. One such fan was 14-year old Leo Sadler who was not ready to accept the batsman’s decision and still had a few questions to ask his hero.
The youngster was in tears while describing his reaction to de Villiers’ announcement. But that’s just when his hero walked in and dried up his tears by giving the teenager the surprise of his life. He sat down with the kid and had a nice chat with him while he answered all his questions.
