Praising the guidance of MS Dhoni, Yuzvendra Chahal has stated that whenever a bowler is in need of help, Dhoni happily obliges and his advice works more often than not. At 37, Dhoni has only been a pale shadow of his past with the bat with not even a single worthwhile innings in last few series.

India has been actively searching for a replacement for former captain MS Dhoni in the longer format of the game, at least in terms of keeping skills. Now with the clamour for Dhoni to be dropped from the shorter formats growing, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has hinted at the importance of the role of a senior player like Dhoni in the team.

"I turn to Dhoni Bhai whenever I am in trouble or need any advice during a match. Dhoni Bhai has amazing observation skills. He can tell from behind the stumps that a bowler has a doubt or has questions by our body language alone. Whenever I am in doubt, he comes and solves the problem. Not just me, other bowlers too take help from him. We all are lucky to have him in the team," Chahal told TOI.

Emphasising on the role of MS Dhoni as an experienced member of the team and value his inputs bring, Yuzvendra praised the former captain and also gave an example.

"Virat Kohli is a great captain. Sometimes, when in doubt, he too approaches Dhoni (on the field) and asks for advice. And it works really well for the team," the Haryana born Chahal said.

MS Dhoni is very active behind the stumps, both physically and verbally. Recently in the Asia Cup, the former captain was caught chiding left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav.

"Sometimes Dhoni Bhai scolds us from behind the stumps when we make mistakes," Chahal said.

With wins in Nidahas Trophy and the Asia Cup, Rohit Sharma has proven himself as a wonderful captaincy option to have at the back, at least in the shorter formats. But, Chahal steered clear of any sort of comparison.

"All three (Dhoni, Virat and Rohit) have different styles of captaincy. You can't compare their captaincy styles" he concluded.
