India vs Windies | CoA shift second ODI from Wankhede to CCI
After Mumbai Cricket Association expressed their inability to host the second ODI between India and Windies due to absence of an cheque-signing authority, CoA has shifted the match to Brabourne Stadium. Earlier, MCA had requested BCCI to take charge of proceedings and host the game at Wankhede.
Mumbai Cricket Association has been facing a multiple number of issues regarding the hosting of the fourth ODI game between India and the Windies. While the complimentary ticket distribution has been a major problem for them, with BCCI’s new constitution stating that only 10% of the tickets can be allowed as passes, the association is also without a signing authority after the High Court-appointed Committee of Administrators dissolved on September 15.
As a result, MCA requested BCCI to take charge of the hosting rights of the game, which was subsequently denied by the BCCI CEO and CoA head Vinod Rai. However, they decided to move the game to Brabourne Stadium, which has been under the administrative control of Cricket Club of India.
“Under the instructions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators, the fourth One-day International match between India and Windies scheduled on 29th October at Wankhede Stadium has been shifted to Cricket Club of India, Mumbai,” BCCI announced in a media release.
ODI series will begin on October 21 after the conclusion of the ongoing Test in Hyderabad and Mumbai will host the fourth ODI of the series. The Virat Kohli-led team will play the first three matches at Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Pune while the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram will host the last ODI.
