Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is normally one of the trustworthy players on the cricket pitch but at the end of the day, even he is human and can make mistakes. Kumar offered Shoaib Malik a second lease of life today, but by then Kuldeep Yadav had started celebrating while Malik was seen walking back.

Catches win matches they say, and that may just be the case in today’s Asia Cup encounter between arch-rivals, Pakistan and India. The two arch-rivals faced off in Dubai, having last played each other in the Champions Trophy final in 2017, which Pakistan comfortably won.

This made today’s game all the more important from an Indian perspective after yesterday’s win against Hong Kong. India were dealt with a huge blow early on in the Pakistan innings as they lost Hardik Pandya to an acute lower back injury which caused the all-rounder to drop motionless on the pitch.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik put up a good partnership in the middle-overs but the Indians were given a golden chance to get back on the game in wrist spinner - Kuldeep Yadav’s 24th over. Malik hit the fourth delivery straight to long on, where pacer - Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was stationed.

But the bowler did not judge the ball correctly as he overran and offered another chance to Malik on the pitch. However, Yadav had already begun celebrating and thinking it was a wicket, Malik had also started walking back to the pavilion. Also, Kumar's antics left Kuldeep fuming, who had thought that he had already had the man.
