Jos Buttler has been of the opinion that MS Dhoni didn't do the right thing by barging onto the field during CSK's high-voltage clash against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur to confront an umpire. While CSK won the game by four wickets, Dhoni has been fined by the BCCI for breaching IPL Code of Conduct.

While Chennai’s domination in the IPL continued, it was MS Dhoni who became the talk of the town on Thursday night. In an intense run-chase against Rajasthan Royals, an animated Dhoni marched into the field of play to confront umpire Ulhas Gandhe after he backtracked on a no-ball decision in the ultimate over.

Jos Buttler, Rajasthan Royals opener and Dhoni’s counter-part, spoke about CSK skipper’s behaviour. Buttler said that Dhoni was ‘probably not right’ in barging into the field, which was also very atypical of him.

“I was fielding at the boundary so I am not sure what had actually happened. I am not sure if that was the right thing to do. Obviously, tensions are running high in the IPL and every run counts and it was probably a big moment in the game, but whether stepping onto the pitch is quite right - I'd say, probably not,” Buttler was quoted in a report from ESPNCricinfo.

Dhoni, who is known for his cool and composed psyche, has been slammed and fined for this breach of code of conduct by the BCCI too. CSK romped home with another nail-biting victory when Mitchell Santner smashed Ben Stokes for a maximum off the very last delivery.
