Lucky to have MS Dhoni in our team, says Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav has mentioned that the vast experience of MS Dhoni is important for the team and they are lucky to have the veteran wicketkeeper in the side. The Uttar Pradesh spinner has also said that he has never played with someone with such quick glovework like the former India skipper.
MS Dhoni’s cricketing acumen has helped young Indian spinners like Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal as he is seen giving tips to the bowlers standing behind the stumps. With an experience of 338 ODIs, Dhoni is someone who understands the details about the game and being the former captain also helps him to take up the role of a mentor whenever needed.
The chinaman has now heaped praise on the wicketkeeper saying that he has a big role to play in the Indian limited-overs side and the Indian side is fortunate enough with a player like him in the squad.
“Mahi bhai has vast experience and keeps telling us the nitty-gritty of the game. He is like a game changer and we are lucky to have him in our team,” Kuldeep was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
In the last game of the T20I series against New Zealand, Dhoni got rid of Kiwi opener Tim Seifert with a lightning-quick stumping off Kuldeep’s bowling. As per the official broadcasters, the bails were taken off in only 0.09 seconds during that dismissal. In ODIs, the Ranchi-born cricketer has a total of 119 stumpings to his name while he has 34 stumpings in the shortest version of cricket.
“But what I find most extraordinary about him is the speed in which he dislodges the stumps. It is simply unbelievable and honestly, I have never played with someone with such quick glovework,” the spinner added.
