Sanjay Manjrekar and former England captain Michael Vaughan had a heated debate on Twitter about England’s recent selection policy. Recently, Sam Curran was preferred ahead of Stuart Broad in England’s squad for a match against Windies which Manjrekar thought was shortsighted by England.

Sanjay Manjrekar lambasted England’s selection policy as a short sighted one when Stuart Broad was dropped for youngster Sam Curran for England’s first match against hosts Windies. The observation did not go down too well with the former England skipper Michael Vaughan who reminded Manjrekar that the same selection policy won the England team Test series against India and Sri Lanka.

Not one to back away, Manjrekar explained that it was this kind of selection policy which has led to England not winning more than one major title in cricket even though they have been playing the sport since 1877.
