For the nth time in a cricket match, a fan has run onto the ground to get close to MS Dhoni. While Dhoni usually handles it by staying away, today, when a fan ran onto the ground to hug Dhoni, the former skipper decided to play “Chor-Police” with him before hugging him for a couple of seconds.

MS Dhoni’s cult status as a cricketer and a wicket-keeper can only comparable to that of Sachin in the latter's heyday, and even that may fall flat at times. A lot of fans have adopted different ways to get close to the man and despite getting the heavy beating from the security guards, they seem not to care.

Today, Dhoni was dismissed for a golden duck when India needed him to stay for long, and one would not be wrong in expecting his brand value to take a hit. But if one knows anything about Indian cricket or MS Dhoni, he knows that the statement cannot possibly be true. Probably the funniest Dhoni-chasing moment came today and it came in the same city where he had announced his resignation as India’s limited-overs skipper back in January 2017.

During the drinks break, a fan broke the barricades to give the former Indian skipper a hug, and seeing that, Dhoni decided to have some fun. He first hid behind Rohit Sharma to challenge the fan to reach out to him and when the fan ran towards Rohit, Dhoni ran in a criss-cross manner to avoid him.

The fan, however, was in no mood to give up and sensing the same, Dhoni eventually came to a halt near the wickets. Dhoni gave him a mini hug before the security guys got hold of him. Other players were seen enjoying Dhoni’s play as they were seen smiling during the "entire game".
