PCB urges ICC to take action against India for wearing camouflage caps during Ranchi ODI

Ever since the Indian cricketers wore camouflage caps in the Ranchi ODI on Friday, there have been a lot of resentment in Pakistan and even the cricket board is highly disappointed with the Indian team’s gesture. Chairman of PCB has now made his point clear by saying that the board has already written a letter to the global body regarding this matter and wants the ICC to take action against India.

“We have made our point very strongly to the ICC which now has no doubts or confusion about our intention or stance now on this matter,” Ehsan Mani told reporters at the National Stadium yesterday, reported PTI.

“We will be sending another letter to the ICC in next 12 hours after more consultations with our lawyers. This is the second that the Board of Control for Cricket in India has tried to use cricket for politics. They took permission from ICC for some other purpose and used it to do something else, which is not acceptable.” 

Mani has stated that he has already reminded the world body about the action it took against South Africa’s Imran Tahir and England’s Moeen Ali a few years ago for making political statements during international matches.

“We want the ICC to take similar sort of action against the Indians,” said Mani.

However, one of the ICC officials had told TOI earlier that the BCCI had asked for due permission from the ICC before the Ranchi ODI regarding the matter.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had requested permission from ICC CEO Dave Richardson on Thursday to let the players participate in a charity fund-raising effort and wear army caps with the BCCI crest in memory of the fallen soldiers," a source in the ICC had told TOI earlier.
