Ishant Sharma said that he had to adjust the line and length he wanted to bowl with the pink ball as it was different compared to bowling with the red ball. Indian pacers continued their hot form as India bowled out Bangladesh for just 106 and have taken a lead of 68 runs at the end of day one.

In just one day of India's first-ever D/N Test, India have taken a giant leap in the Test and Bangladesh will have to do all the running to come back and save the series. Indian bowlers were on the money right from ball one and they bundled out Bangladesh for just 106 with Ishant Sharma being the star of the show with a brilliant five-wicket haul. Ishant opened up about his experience of bowling with the pink ball after the end of days play and commented on the kind of adjustments he had to make in order to make an impact with the pink ball.

"It was a lot different from the red ball. Initially, we bowled the right length but did not get any swing. Then we realized at what length we have to hit and we discussed among ourselves and found out the right length to bowl with the pink ball," Ishant told TOI.

The 31-year old has played 96 Tests for India so far and has been a different bowler from the last eighteen months as he has improved leaps and bounds in areas like landing the ball on its seam and bowling consistent line and length. He is definitely enjoying being the spearhead of arguably the most effective pace attack in the world at the moment with the likes of Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah around him.

"I'm enjoying my cricket right now. Initially, I used to take more pressure on my performance, to take wickets and beat batsmen so many things. Now I don't think much. Obviously, I've got experience now so I adjust my length according to the conditions quickly," he stated.

Ishant is now being seen as a Test specialist for India and has last played a white-ball game in the blue jersey way back in 2016. But, he is not thinking about that as he is looking forward to just enjoying whatever form of cricket he is playing, which is very important to keep one's confidence high.

"Yes, it feels sad sometimes. But I've reached a stage in life I've stopped worrying about those things. I'm now 31 and if I start worrying about which format I'm in then I cannot perform. I just want to play, be it Ranji Trophy or India. That's a simple thing. If you enjoy playing you do well. If you start cribbing for small things you can never improve," Ishant concluded.
