Sourav Ganguly will take dynamic decisions, says incumbent BCCI president CK Khanna
Current BCCI president CK Khanna has stated that Sourav Ganguly is known for his bold and courageous decisions and will be a strong presence in the BCCI. Ganguly is now set to lead as president of BCCI after being unanimously agreed by the state associations to win uncontested.
Sourav Ganguly is going to be the only nominee from Cricket Association of Bengal for the upcoming BCCI AGM and is set to contest for the post of president in the elections. The former India captain is set to be elected unopposed to the top spot after the state associations sat together to deliberate on the post. Upon being intimated about the news, CK Khanna, who is currently the acting president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), hailed the decision.
“It is a matter of great pride that former India captain Sourav Ganguly is now set to lead as president of BCCI with his vast experience as a cricketer and as former India captain,” Khanna told ANI.
Ganguly is no alien to the administration as he was an active member of various committees including the chairperson of the BCCI technical committee. Aside from that, he is the current president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and was one of the members of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), a position that has kept him in a convenient vantage point in the BCCI.
“Also, he is a member of CAC and president of CAB. He will lead BCCI to new heights and I am confident that he will take dynamic decisions because BCCI’s past few years had faced a tough time. We are confident that under his leadership his entire team will do a great job during his tenure. I wish all the very best to Sourav and his team,” Khanna said.
