IND v SA | Jharkhand to offer 5000 free tickets to men in uniform for third Test
The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has decided to distribute 5000 free tickets among men in uniform for the third and final Test match between India and South Africa. Meanwhile, the visitors are being lodged in a different hotel further away from the venue for the match than the hosts.
Team India has already won the series 2-0 but will be keen to complete a second successive clean sweep in a Test series when they take the field on Saturday. And the state association has offered a gesture of goodwill to the CRPF jawans, army officials, and NCC cadets.
“We have set aside around five thousand tickets to the match for our CRPF jawans, army-men and NCC cadets. It is our tribute to the men in uniform. We have also distributed tickets among schoolchildren in different districts,” JSCA secretary Sanjay Sahay told TOI.
South Africa’s miserable tour took another hitch on Tuesday when the team was forced to walk all the way to the hotel building from the gate as their bus got stuck at the gate. The Proteas have been put up at a hotel 13 kilometres away from the JSCA international cricket stadium, while the Indian team has been put up in a hotel only nine kilometres away from the venue for the third Test. A JSCA official clarified that the situation was such because of a doctors’ conference that is to take place in the city.
“The rooms for that had been booked one year in advance. However, the bookings are not done by us. It was done the Board itself,” the official said.
