The last set of matches of the three-week-long league stage of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy season was played on October 17. Going ahead in the competition, the top eight teams will now be looking to finalize a spot for themselves in the semifinals. The knockout stage will begin with the first quarterfinal, to be played between Karnataka and Pondicherry, scheduled on October 20.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has cleared the air about a recent confusion that was borne out of a glitch on the bcci.tv official website that showed that matches will also be played in Amritsar and Bokakhat in Assam.
