Bangladesh women get green signal from government for Pakistan tour

After Sri Lankan men visited the country this month, the Bangladesh women's team will now make the trip to Pakistan to play three T20Is and two ODIs from October 23. All the matches for the security-officials-cleared tour — the T20Is on 26, 28, and 30, and the ODIs on November 2 and 4 — will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium. The 15-member squad announced by the BCB will be captained by Salma Khatun in the T20Is and Rumana Ahmed in the longer version. 

"We have received a green signal from the government for our women's and Under-16 tour. So we decided the tour will go as per schedule," Chowdhury told Cricbuzz. 

"The security threat varies at different levels. As now, we have decided to send the women and age-level team. We can make a decision about our national team's visit to Pakistan once we get the full report from the security agencies."

Meanwhile, the board hasn’t confirmed on the men's tour of Pakistan, scheduled for February next year, which will include two Tests and three T20Is. According to Chowdhury, the BCB will only take a final call regarding the matter once they receive the full reports from security officials. He further revealed that the board decided to send the women and the Under-16 team as the threat level is minimal compared to the men's team traveling.
