No message, nothing, not a word from my franchise regarding IPL, reveals Vijay Shankar

As the COVID 19 pandemic evolves and takes the World by storm, the fate of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) seems to be getting pushed towards the deeper end of the pool. The cash-rich league which was earlier scheduled to take off on March 29 has been postponed to April 15 but with 21-day lockdown in the nation chances of it happening on the given date are nearly non-existent.

India all-rounder Vijay Shankar conceded that he hasn't heard a word yet from his franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad, regarding the IPL yet. Shankar feels that with the situation worsening every hour it’s too early to comment on the future of the cash-rich league.

“No message, nothing. But things don’t look promising at this point and it would be too early to comment upon anything. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait,” Shankar was quoted as saying by Khel Now.

The Tamil Nadu lad is troubled with all the havoc that the virus has wrecked around the globe and is looking to get over these tough times as safely and quickly as possible. He shared that he is abiding by governments directives to play safe in these dire times.

“I am sitting at home and doing nothing. I am not thinking much about the IPL or cricket in general because things are pretty scary these days due to the coronavirus outbreak. The news about the condition of people in Italy and other parts of the world is disappointing, and I right now, all I am thinking about is staying safe at home and do whatever in the comfort of my home,” he added.
