Bangladesh beat India by 59 runs in the Under-19 Asia Cup Final in Dubai. Opting to bowl first, India impressed with the ball and restricted Bangladesh to 198 while the Men in Blue faltered in their chase, plagued by poor shot selection and lack of partnerships, ultimately conceding defeat.

‌On a bright and sunny morning in Dubai, the stage was set for the Under-19 Asia Cup final, as India took on Bangladesh. Indian skipper Mohammad Amaan won the toss and chose to bowl first, banking on Dubai's dry conditions to aid his bowlers. Bangladesh openers Kalam Siddiki and Zawad Abrar adopted a cautious approach and advanced the score to 17/0 in six overs. However, India's Yudhajit Guha provided the early breakthrough, dismissing Kalam in the seventh over. Abrar followed suit, falling to Chetan Sharma in the 11th over. With the arrival of Azizul Hakim and Mohammad Shihab James, Bangladesh reached 52/2 by the 13th over. The partnership seemed promising until Kiran Chormale displayed his mastery of spin, removing Hakim in the 19th over. Despite this setback, James and Rizan Hossan counter-attacked, building a crucial 53-run stand that pushed the score to 119/3 in 31 overs. Desperate for a wicket, skipper Amaan brought Ayush Mhatre into the attack, which paid dividends instantly as Mhatre dismissed James, who contributed 40 runs off 67 balls. At 128/4 in the 32nd over, Debashish Sarkar joined Hossan at the crease. Bangladesh's troubles deepened when Karthikeya struck, removing Sarkar, and soon after, Hossan fell in the 38th over, leaving Bangladesh struggling at 155/6. Farid Hasan and Samiun Bashir attempted stabilising the innings and inched toward a respectable total. While Farid fought valiantly, wickets continued to tumble at the other end with Bangladesh tallying at 195/8 after 48 overs. Ultimately, Bangladesh were bundled out for 198 runs in 50 overs with Yudhajit scalping Iqbal Hossain Emmon. 

 

India's chase got off to a shaky start, losing opener Ayush Mhatre in the second over. Andre Siddhart and Vaibhav Suryavasni attempted to stabilize the innings, pushing the score to 16/1 by the fourth over. However, Maruf Mridha's fiery pace led to Suryavasni's dismissal after a reckless shot, leaving India at 27/2 in six overs. Siddhart and Karthikeya worked to rebuild, but Rizan struck in the 12th over to remove Siddhart. Amaan and Karthikeya then took the score to 72/3 by the 20th over. Trouble resurfaced when Emon broke their partnership, dismissing Karthikeya in the 21st over. Emon struck again in the same over, sending Nikjil Kumar back to the pavilion. Poor shot selection and miscommunication between the wickets continued to plague India. Harvansh Singh’s dismissal further deepened India's woes, leaving them reeling. The final glimmer of hope, Amaan, fell to Tamim in the 32nd over, effectively sealing India's fate. The Indian team crumbled and bowled out for 139 and fell  59 runs short as Bangladesh successfully defended their title.
