Chennai Super Kings sets up Super Kings Academy in Sydney

IPL powerhouse Chennai Super Kings has inaugurated its latest academy in Sydney, marking a significant expansion with the launch of the Super Kings Academy. This new facility will be the third international branch of the Super Kings Academy, joining existing centres in the USA, UK and India.

‌Chennai Super Kings and its academy are set to expand into the Southern Hemisphere with the launch of a new centre in Sydney. The academy announced this latest venture on its official website. In a press release, CSK CEO KS Viswanathan said, “ We are happy to extend our special journey with Australia, which began with the inception of IPL in 2008.” Highlighting the illustrious legacy of Australian cricket, he added, “ Australia is a champion country with a strong sporting culture and rich cricketing legacy. The Super Kings Academy will tap into and help groom cricketers, both boys and girls, adding to the already strong system in the country.”

The Super Kings Academy in Sydney will be situated at Cricket Central, 161 Silverwater Road, Sydney Olympic Park. This modern facility will offer year-round training for both outdoor and indoor cricket. Coaching sessions for boys and girls are set to start in September.

Anand Karuppiah, Director of Echelon Sports Management, the franchise partner of Super Kings Academy in Sydney, said, “ We are excited to collaborate and bring Super Kings Academy to Australia. Cricket is a common thread between India and Australia. Sydney is a city with a rich cricketing history and a land of cricket-loving multicultural society. We will do our bit to assist the young talents to fulfil their aspirations and dreams by providing the academy in Sydney.”
