Nothing is more satisfying for a bowler than claiming two big wickets in a single over, and that's exactly what Varun Chakravarthy did in the first T20I between South Africa and India. He showcased his skill and class by dismissing the well-set David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen in quick succession.

South Africa's decision to bowl first backfired as Aiden Markram introduced spin early despite favorable conditions for pace. India’s openers got off to a solid start, reaching 24/0 in three overs, before Abhishek Sharma fell. Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav accelerated the scoring, with Samson smashing a quick fifty and later a stunning century in just 47 balls, while India posted 202/8 in 20 overs. In reply, South Africa lost early wickets, with Markram falling to Arshdeep Singh and Tristan Stubbs dismissed by Avesh Khan, leaving them at 49/3 after six overs. Klaasen and Miller fought back, but with spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Varun Chakravarthy tightening the noose, South Africa's required run rate climbed to nearly 14 per over. However, Varun Chakaravarthy at his best as he picked up the duo in the same over.

On the third ball of the 12th over, Varun Chakaravarthy bowled a short delivery outside off stump, which Heinrich Klaasen mistimed while attempting to rock back and hit it. The ball went straight to Axar Patel at long-on for an easy catch. A ball later, Chakaravarthy bowled another short delivery to David Miller, who tried to pull for a six but failed to get enough timing, with Avesh Khan taking the catch at deep backward square leg. The Indian crowd erupted as Chakaravarthy claimed the wickets of two well-set batters, and Twitter celebrated the KKR star's brilliant spin bowling performance.
