Home is always a safe place to hunt and so it has been for Prithvi Shaw in the ensuing Irani Trophy. After a horrid time in the County circuit in the United Kingdom, the Mumbaikar announced himself with a huge six that threatened a cameraman on duty on the fourth day of the encounter.

Overnight batters Abhimanyu Easwaran and Dhruv Jurel extended their stronghold in the competition with a 162-run fifth-wicket stand before the Mumbai bowlers pegged back at them in the second session. Wickets fell thick and fast following Jurel and Easwaran’s dismissals for 93 and 191 respectively with ROI folding for 437. With a lead of 121 runs, Openers Prithvi Shaw and Ayush Mhatre got off to a confident start with the former making a strong comeback following a poor County outing, a highlight of which was a solid six towards one of the camera persons in the field.

Rest of India introduced spin early after the fifth over in the third innings of the game after noticing considerable bite for them in the wicket. But a semi-settled Shaw didn’t quite let the spinners have their say by taking them down with marvellous strokes. On the last ball of the ninth over, Manav Suthar came over the wicket and bowled a loopy fuller delivery outside the stumps that Shaw shimmied down the track and smoked it over long on for a six.  The ball soared towards the cameraman behind the boundary boards of long region and scared the person out there. The red cherry thudded one of the axles supporting the camera compelling the on-duty broadcaster to flee from his position. This helped Shaw reach a fifty eventually and keep Mumbai in the game, thereby announcing his comeback at home after a poor County outing with Northamptonshire. Seeing this, the Twitterverse took to social media to discuss about it.
