Few games match the intensity of an India versus Pakistan clash. Yet again the enthusiasm was skyrocketing in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and Arundhati Reddy’s fiery send-off after dismissing former Pakistan captain Nida Dar at the Dubai International Stadium epitomizing it.

In an attempt to make a case for themselves in the Group A points table, Pakistan looked to bat first and continue their winning momentum during the toss. However, the usage of pace and spin from either end worked well for the Women in Blue with Shreyanka Patil’s leg spin doing further damage in the Pakistan batting order. With the score reading 41/4 around the halfway mark of the innings, Nida Dar stepped up for a brief period before falling out of partners and being on the receiving end of a hostile send off.

Pakistan’s current run rate never touched the run-a-ball mark but Sana tried to rescue them off adversity with his 28-run knock. Although she stayed till the last over to steer the Pakistani side near the 100-run mark, her good fate after surviving a lbw due to umpires call was followed by a peach from Reddy. The bowler dished a fuller one right at the off stump that Dar went on to slog with hard hand on the last over’s fourth ball. However, the cork sneaked through the batter’s blades and knocked the base of the sticks rooted in the soil. Subsequently, Reddy chirped at Dar in aggression and showed her the way to the dugout with a strong gesture. The history of India versus Pakistan games have seen such rage from players in the past and the Twitterverse buzzed about the latest in the list.
