India has had its fair share of enthralling number 11s, from Sreesanth and Ajit Agarkar to the latest sensation Mohammed Siraj. The tailender proved his talents yet again in Bengaluru on Thursday with a classy caress through third man while the Kiwis tried to rattle him with sharp bumpers.

India collapsed to 46 all-out on the first day of play in the opening Test against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy stadium to record their lowest ever total at home. Matt Henry proved to be the destructor in chief with a fervent five wicket haul while William O'Rourke maximised the advantages of his six foot six frame to scalp four. However, amidst the comprehensive Kiwi domination, Mohammed Siraj found a way to give the Indian supporters some respite by deftly guiding an O'Rourke short one for four in the 29th over, thus sending Twitterati and the stadium into a frenzy.
