Presence of mind is an advantage in fielding, and players sometimes go the extra mile to display that, combined with their agility. A similar moment occurred in the CPL match between Guyana and Saint Lucia Kings, where David Wiese and Khary Pierre executed a spectacular relay catch.

‌Having already secured a playoff spot and leading the points table, Guyana's decision to bat first paid off well. Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Azam Khan laid a solid foundation with 36 runs without loss in the first four overs. However, Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad broke the partnership by dismissing Khan. Shortly after, Gurbaz also fell in the sixth over. Despite the setbacks, a strong 85-run partnership between Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer propelled Guyana to 134/2 by the 14th over. Once both departed, Keemo Paul couldn't contribute much, departing after an excellent fielding effort by the Saint Lucia players.

On the third ball of the 18th over, Ahmad bowled a fuller delivery on the leg stump, angling it away. Paul moved back, dropped to one knee for a big slog sweep and managed to smack it towards the cow corner region. The ball wasn't struck cleanly and hovered near the long-on position. David Wiese at long-on ran to his right, just inches from the boundary, and flicked the ball back to deep mid-wicket as he leapt over the ropes. Khary Pierre sprinted from deep mid-wicket to complete the catch. The on-field umpires briefly paused to check its legality, but the third umpire confirmed the dismissal.

WHAT A CATCH!
