‌Team spirit is knitted in the annals of cricketing history and often raises the bar of the sport. An emotional moment was captured between Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli in the third session of the fourth day in the Kanpur Test after the latter was almost run out due to the former if not for blunder.

Eyeing to surmount a 233-run first innings trial, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma brought up carnage at the venue as India raced to the fifty runs mark in the third over.  Although the Indian captain was outdone by Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the fourth over, Jaiswal continued the run-scoring spree with Gill playing second fiddle. Their 72-run second wicket stand was followed by the Tea session before which both Gill fell cheaply off Shakib Al Hasan. With Virat Kohli entering the fray, a monumental incident took center stage revolving around a missed run out chance.

The first ball of the 18th over was a no-ball due to overstepping that Pant whipped away for a single. Right after, Khaled bowled a length delivery much outside the stumps that Kohli tried to drive off the front foot. However, he incurred an inside edge onto the pads and the ball died near the wicket with Kohli setting off for a single. While Pant tried to stop Kohli despite calling for a run, the Indian stalwart was stuck halfway in the strip with Khaled chasing the ball. Subsequently, the bowler failed to make a direct hit from a couple of feet’s distance helping Kohli escape with a survival chance. Immediately after, Litton was seen gazing at the bowler in agony while Pant walked up to his ally and hugged him tight before exchanging smiles.

Certainly, a heartwarming moment like this did not go unnoticed by the Twitterverse.
