Moments of brilliance on the field often take teams to the top, and Chris Lynn showed just that during the Big Bash League match against Brisbane Heat in Adelaide on Wednesday. The Adelaide Strikers veteran came up with a stunning diving throw to catch Matt Renshaw off guard with a direct hit.

‌Brisbane Heat had a horrific start after being put into bat by hosts Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League on Wednesday. The visitors lost their top three batters inside five overs, with the score reading just 17. The pace trio of Liam Scott, Jamie Overton, and Luke Wood all picked up wickets as the visitors looked down the barrel.

Chris Lynn piled further misery on the visitors with an extraordinary effort in the next over to see the back of in-form batter Matt Renshaw. After guiding a good length delivery from Scott towards backward point, Max Bryant immediately called for a single.

Renshaw responded immediately, with Chris Lynn sprinting in and hurling the ball towards the stumps with a diving throw. The left-handed batter looked safe in real time, just as the ball hit the timber and the bails were dislodged, but the replays had a different story to tell.

Renshaw looked confident as the bowler started his walk back to his mark and the fielders quickly shifted fields for the left-hander. But the replay caught everyone by surprise, as the first iteration was close and in the batter’s favour.

But the slow-motion replay showed the batter behind the line, and that was followed by loud cheers from the crowd. The teammates were a happy lot as they rushed to congratulate the veteran player for his stupendous effort. Twitter was in awe of the 35-year-old Lynn’s acrobatics as the Heat’s freefall continued.

 Wow!

Run out!
