One of the toughest things for a fielder in cricket is to recover by catching the ball after misjudging it completely. One such catch was taken by Kieron Pollard during the Major League Cricket 2025 final against Washington Freedom at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Sunday.

‌The third season of Major League Cricket ended on Sunday with MI New York emerging victorious after beating defending champions Washington Freedom in a thrilling final by five runs. Quinton de Kock's rapid 77 took the Nicholas Pooran-led franchise to 180/7 in their 20 overs before a dream start to the defence saw them two scalps in the first over itself. The second wicket nearly failed to materialize until Kieron Pollard showcased why he is still one of the best fielders at the ripe old age of 38.
Pollard had failed to make a contribution with the bat in the first innings, getting dismissed for a three-ball duck off Lockie Ferguson. However, it seemed like he had decided to make up for his failures in the field, starting from the first over bowled by Trent Boult. On the fifth ball, Boult was bowling to the dangerous Andries Gous. However, on this occassion the American mistimed a flick shot and ended up skying the ball. Pollard ran back from mid-on and though he misjudged the ball initially resulting in him juggling the ball thrice, the veteran recovered well to complete a crucial catch.
This catch proved that, though the Trinadadian powerhouse might be retired from international cricket, he still possesses the same athleticism he had in his prime.
