Manoj Tiwary has made some suggestions for Mumbai Indians to improve its performances. The team has struggled to secure wins this season, as they stand among the bottom teams. Amidst this, Manoj Tiwary has suggested that Rohit Sharma should be handed the captaincy again.

The IPL 2026 has not been an easy one for Mumbai Indians. The team has struggled to secure wins, holding just one win in the tournament so far. And a few years back, they became the only team to win the IPL final five times in 2020, creating history of its dominance.

One of the key reasons for the team's dominance in the IPL was Rohit Sharma. His captaincy allowed Mumbai Indians to touch new heights, but before the IPL 2026 season, he was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the captain. Since then, the team's performances have dipped down to an extent, which even feels tough for the fans to watch.

Manoj Tiwary, former Indian cricketer, has suggested a change which could help Mumbai Indians to regain its momentum. He said,“I think that if a solution is needed, Hardik should step back from the captaincy and hand the responsibility back to Rohit. When you removed Rohit, you did an injustice.”

Our Take

The suggestions made by Manoj Tiwary have received mixed reactions from the fans. While Rohit Sharma has been a great captain for the team, he was also leading the Indian team across all formats at that time. Even under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians managed to reach the Qualifier 2 stage in the last season. While their performances have fallen down, Mumbai is best known for its comebacks which might take place soon.
