Riyan Parag was spotted using a vape in the Rajasthan Royals dressing room. Since it is against the rules, fans expected that Parag might even face a suspension in the tournament. But it turns out that he has been handed just a fine of 25% match fees.

Riyan Parag found himself in the headlines once again in the IPL 2026. But this time it was not due to his form or his captaincy, it was due to a dressing room incident. During the match against Punjab Kings, he was spotted smoking a vape in the dressing room.

According to the rules and guidelines, it is prohibited for the players to smoke or vape in the dressing room. There are some areas where smoking is allowed, but Parag was not spotted there. Moreover, he was using a vape, which has been made illegal by the Indian government, and strict actions were thought to be taken against him.

But that didn't happen, as Rajasthan Royals have now been given a sign of relief. Riyan Parag has been fined just 25% of his match fees, and he would be available for Rajasthan Royals in their upcoming match against Delhi Capitals as well. While Parag has escaped the ban, it remains to be seen whether he will be doing such actions again or not.

Our Take

Rajasthan Royals surely have received a sign of relief as their captain has escaped a possible ban. But it should also be noted that a legal action on Parag’s vaping incident is pending, as vaping is banned under the Indian laws. A few weeks back, the team manager Romi Bhinder was also caught using a phone in the team dugout but he escaped it and was handed a fine.
