Cricket fans were excited to some extent as the BCB and BCCI were in talks to conduct the India tour of Bangladesh. However, this tour has been hit with a major roadblock, as it may be postponed yet again. A few weeks back, reports suggested that Bangladesh has put down a September window for the same.

But the T20I series between India and Afghanistan was announced shortly after the same. And with this series taking place in September, it has already occupied the room which India tour of Bangladesh wanted to take. It has been reported that the India tour of Bangladesh is now postponed once again.

Earlier the tour was set to take place in August 2025, but Bangladesh had some internal tensions. Following this, the tensions between India and Bangladesh peaked even in cricket, as Mustafizur Rahman was released by KKR in IPL, and Bangladesh even pulled themselves out of the T20 World Cup 2026 being hosted by India.

Our Take

There are various questions surrounding the India tour of Bangladesh now. Tamim Iqbal has already said that both boards are in talks to ensure that the tour takes place. But the updates which cricket fans get about the same are not what they actually expect. Now it seems challenging for the tour to take place this year, as India is having a packed ODI schedule from September, starting with the series against West Indies.
