The T20I series between India and Afghanistan, where India will be the visiting team, is about to commence in the next few weeks. The schedule of this series has already been announced, as both teams will be focusing on it as preparation for the Asian Games.

However, it is being reported that the series might be having some alteration in its dates. And this could be done to ensure that one match of the series takes place on 14 September, the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. If the reports are true, this will be discussed by the ACB and BCCI to know about its possibility.

Currently, the first T20I is scheduled to take place on 13 September and the second T20I is scheduled to take place on 15 September. Either the first T20I could be scheduled a day later, or the second T20I could be scheduled a day earlier to ensure that fans are able to watch the series on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Our Take

India will be aiming to have a strong series against Afghanistan, as they prepare for the Asian Games. At the same time, Afghanistan will be playing as the hosts against India, while playing at India's home-ground. This shows the cooperation which has been built around the two cricket boards, as the BCCI has even allowed Afghanistan cricket team to host its games at the Indian venues and even practice at them, whenever needed.
