The Indian team camp gets even brighter with the ODI series against Afghanistan. After a long time, both Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill found their name together in the squad. The duo caught up as the team arrived for the practice sessions, as their reunion is now winning hearts.

The Indian team will be going against Afghanistan for the ODI series from 13 June. And after a long time, the Indian team had the names of both Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan together in the squad. This was a moment which no one expected could have happened anytime sooner, when Ishan Kishan lost his central contract in 2024.

But today, the cricket fans were able to see both Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan together as they walked in for the practice sessions ahead of the first ODI. This moment is now winning hearts online, as the cricket fans missed it to a great extent. Gill and Kishan have been besties for a long time, but one of them missed out on the Indian team for the last two years.

When Ishan Kishan made his comeback to T20Is, he eventually made his way to the ODI team. With India going against Afghanistan in a three match ODI series, both of these players will be eager to give their best and allow the Indian team to secure a comfortable series win.

Our Take

Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill together in the ODI side will be a bit similar to the duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. One opens for the Indian team and gives it a strong start while the other comes when a wicket falls. Although both Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan have opened for the Indian team in this format, Rohit Sharma will be taking one opening spot for the team.
