The Indian cricket team is shining across every tournament. Over the last two years, the team has managed to win five trophies combined in Men's, Women's, and Under-19. The BCCI will now be honouring the teams at the Naman Awards.
Just like every year, the BCCI is all set to host the Naman Awards for the 2024/25 cycle. This event will be hosted on 15 March at a five-star hotel near the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The main purpose of hosting this event is to honour the Indian team for its spectacular performances.
Whether it was the Men's team, Women's team, or the Under-19 team, each one of them did well in the tournaments they participated in. Eventually, they were able to bring trophies to the BCCI cabinet, boosting the board's strength worldwide. Over the last few months, India also hosted the Women's World Cup and Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
Being the hosts of the tournament, the Indian team came out dominant on both occasions, winning the title. With this, the team has won 5 ICC titles lately, which include the Champions Trophy 2025, T20 World Cup 2026, the Women's World Cup 2025, and the Under-19 World Cup for both Men and Women.
Our Take
This move by the BCCI comes as a great initiative to honour the players who gave their best in the tournament. Moreover, the board will be honouring all the teams together, whether it is Men's, Women's, or the Youth team. It is a big move, as the younger generation will also be able to share the stage with the talented stars of the nation.
Along with that, the top performers of the tournaments will also be felicitated at this event. The event takes place right before the domestic schedules of the players get fixed, and they go on to participate in the IPL. Since the event also includes honouring the Champions Trophy 2025 team, several veterans such as Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and more are likely to be present.
