Royal Riders Punjab have received a strong start to their maiden Legends League Cricket campaign. Even after securing a loss in their debut game, the team has bounced back stronger. Defeating Konark Suryas Odisha in their previous game, the team now stands at the top of the table.

The Legends League Cricket keeps on getting more exciting with each passing game. Yesterday, Royal Riders Punjab went against Konark Suryas Odisha in a thriller. Konark Suryas Odisha, the finalists of the previous season, were able to win the toss in this game and they decided to bowl first. They thought to chase the total but things went upside down for them.

Royal Riders Punjab did well with their top order. Mohammad Shahzad (41), Danushka Gunathilaka (23), and Chaturanga de Silva (28), helped the team to reach a stable score. But the wickets in the middle overs fell quickly, which restricted Royal Riders Punjab to just 156 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Konark Suryas Odisha had strength in their batting line-up but failed miserably to chase the target. The team scored just 113 runs before being all out, which allowed Royal Riders Punjab to get their first win in the Legends League Cricket. Morne van Wyk was able to score a half-century for his team but it came in a losing cause.

Our Take

While Royal Riders Punjab did not start well in the Legends League Cricket, they have regained momentum with the win over Konark Suryas Odisha. Defeating the finalists from the previous season would definitely boost the team's confidence. Moreover, they showed stability with the top order, as players were able to rely on their experience.

On the other hand, things didn't go as planned for Konark Suryas Odisha. They will have to assess their batting line-up well before the team enters the next game. Except for Morne van Wyk, no other batsman in the team reached even 20 runs.
